{ Hello! }

My name is Gavin. I am 11 months old. I was born with a genetic disorder called Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency that caused my liver to go into failure. I was misdiagnosed for 3 months and underwent emergency surgery before they found out what was wrong. I am on the Organ Donation List and am waiting for my "gift of life" so I can have a liver transplant. You can read about my story by clicking {here}. Thank you for visiting my online journal!

*It is our deepest sorrow to inform you that Gavin passed away while waiting to receive a liver transplant. He was only 14 days away from his 1st birthday. Please, if you haven't already, sign up to be a registered organ donor today and talk to your loved ones about your wishes: http://www.donatelife.net/. Thank you all so much for your love and support during this last year.

5 months old!

5 months old!

Stats
Weight: 10 lbs 8 oz
Height: 24"
Head: 15.5"

Eating Habits:
Gavin has been having a trouble gaining weight, even though he eats pretty regularly. He averages about 5oz a meal, every 2-3 hours, even at night. Sometimes he' say.

Sleeping Habits:We're still awaiting the time when Gavin sleeps through the night. He *did* sleep through one feeding last week, so it was about 6 straight hours. (so why were we still exhausted when we woke up?!) And another night he only woke up to eat 1oz and went back to sleep. So I'm saying my hail mary's and crossing my fingers that HOPEFULLY this is the beginning of the end, and he will be sleeping all night SOON!!! Heck, I'll be happy of we can just cut out on feeding. He is much easier to get to sleep though. Now as long as he is drowsy we can just set him in his swing and he may cry a little bit, but he usually just falls asleep on his own within 5 minutes. That is super nice! We bought his crib set so we'll be setting up the crib *soon* and then he'll start sleeping in Joenick's room.

Playing Habits:

Gavin is getting so fun! He's beginning to figure out "tickling" and that you're supposed to laugh, haha! We tickle his back and the inside of his thighs and he smiles and laughs. Its so cute. He's getting really good at holding up toys and shakes rattles and grabs/kicks toys hanging from his carseat handle and playmat. He loves being held up in the air. He also likes laying in the window and looking outside. (when Gretel isn't dive bombing him anyway). He has sat in the exersaucer at Grandma Ann's house a few times and he likes it for about 15 minutes or so. His favorite part of it is the spinning rattle, he goes crazy over that thing! He also loves babbling and blowing bubbles to us, especially since Daddy is so good at mimicking him! :P

1sts this month:He's learned how to roll over both ways this month...tummy to back, and back to tummy, and he can turn himself around in a circle. Its so nice that he can lay on a blanket for awhile and just keep himself occupied with a few toys!

And just because it makes me laugh:
