My name is Gavin. I am 11 months old. I was born with a genetic disorder called Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency that caused my liver to go into failure. I was misdiagnosed for 3 months and underwent emergency surgery before they found out what was wrong. I am on the Organ Donation List and am waiting for my "gift of life" so I can have a liver transplant. You can read about my story by clicking {here}. Thank you for visiting my online journal!

Bake Sale Success!


I want to thank Monique and Nanci and everyone at the Ironwood Cancer Research Centers for hosting an AMAZING Bake Sale in Gavin's honor!!! My mom works there and her coworkers put the whole thing together themselves, it was so sweet! She said a lot of people brought in various baked goods, and they sold pizza slices at lunchtime, too. I wish I could've been there to see it all! Unfortunately, no pictures were taken of the event, so I just put up a cute one I found on Google. (and I'm pretty sure people were paying a LOT more than 25 cents for their cookie!) ;) Thank you to everyone who came and bought some yummy baked goodies, too! :D
