Well, it looks like Gavin may not get to come home until August 5th!!! I know. I'm not exactly thrilled about it. Gavin's cultures have all come back negative for the last 3 days, so I'm not sure why we can't just give him antibiotics at home like we did last time. But we'll see what happens. It doesn't seem like all the doctors are on the same page about when we could go home, we've been hearing different things from each one, so maybe, just maybe, we'll get an earlier release date!
In the meantime, once again, Gavin's frequent flyers miles got us upgraded to the GOOD ROOM! (Thanks Nurse Danielle!) :) Ya baby...its pretty nice. Really big and roomy with built-in shelves, I like it even better than the other "good room" we had last time. It uses the space more wisely then the other room did. (man, this sounds pathetic!) :P Anyway, at least we'll be more comfy if we have to wait ANOTHER week!!!!
We went on a little shopping spree this evening and bought Gavin some new toys. We figure he must be getting bored, too, and he DEFINITELY deserves it! We got him some stacking cups, one of the reproduction vintage Fisher Price toys (a mini "tv" with a moving picture screen that plays London Bridge and Row Your Boat), and a singing, light up stuffed lightning bug that can hang from his crib slats. I'm almost wondering if we should put up some new curtains in the windows for him...:P
{ Hello! }
My name is Gavin. I am 11 months old. I was born with a genetic disorder called Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency that caused my liver to go into failure. I was misdiagnosed for 3 months and underwent emergency surgery before they found out what was wrong. I am on the Organ Donation List and am waiting for my "gift of life" so I can have a liver transplant. You can read about my story by clicking {here}. Thank you for visiting my online journal!
*It is our deepest sorrow to inform you that Gavin passed away while waiting to receive a liver transplant. He was only 14 days away from his 1st birthday. Please, if you haven't already, sign up to be a registered organ donor today and talk to your loved ones about your wishes: http://www.donatelife.net/. Thank you all so much for your love and support during this last year.

Yeah, you know it's bad when you are thinking of redecorating the place because you're there too often!:P
